Mission
Who hasn’t found themselves sitting in traffic and thought “I wish I could fly above it”. Our mission is making that reality.
Americans waste an average of 42 hours per year sitting in traffic, and in large metro areas like Los Angeles, that climbs to over 100 hours annually!
Our goal has always been to make vehicles that anyone can easily fly and we envision a future where they’re used for both fun and transportation.
Experience matters
It’s easy for anyone to make bold promises with beautiful designs - the difference is that we actually build and fly ours.
We’ve conducted hundreds of flights across eight different vehicle designs to truly understand what does and doesn’t work in the real world. We learn countless lessons from actually building product and flying it - things that can’t be learned until you really fly it. In fact, many of those lessons have turned into important patents for us.
Our experience
Our focus has always been to build vehicles that are easy to use and actually work. We believe in our work, which is why we have actually flown dozens of people in our vehicles across several hundreds flights.
We think through all steps in the design, control, and safety elements, which has led to novel patents on those systems.
Flyt has designed, built, and tested 11 separate vehicles since our founding in 2013, making us one of the oldest and most experienced companies in the VTOL space. Very few companies can say that they have flown their platform with a human on-board hundreds of times and flown public demonstrations in four separate countries.
That’s how confident we are in our product.
Our strategy
Big dreams only matter if there’s a way to get there. Our approach to the VTOL market is founded on the belief that there is value in building product and moving towards our goals in increments that build on one another.
Tesla is a great example of our approach. They wanted to bring electric cars to the mass market but knew it would be too difficult to start by building a mass market electric car. Our goal is mass market eVTOL vehicles for transportation, so we’re building our way in four steps, each of which builds on the previous through technology, safety, and regulations:
Hoverbikes - the simplest and safest way to demonstrate the technology and build flight hours on the platform for higher altitude uses
Skydiving drones - a two-seater vehicle for tandem skydiving jumps to increase weight capacity and revolutionize the skydiving market
Two-seater recreational vehicle - a vehicle designed to revolutionize general purpose flying and build manufacturing experience
Transportation - vehicles based on proven technology from previous efforts to make all our dreams of flying above traffic a reality.
Each of these steps builds on the previous and reduces risks along the way.
